THE THREATENED loss of democratic control was the main issue at stake in Transport Secretary, Tom King's bid to take responsibility for London transport away from the GLC, 200 representatives of London transport pressure groups and local authorities were told last Saturday by GLC transport committee chair Dave Wetzel.
