COACH INCREASES • Coach insurance broker Chapman Stevens has warned PSV operators of substantial premium increases in 1987, The main reasons for the pending rises, according to managing director Brian Chapman, are: the fall in interest rates over the last year, a reduction in market capacity — particularly amongst the reinsurance companies — and bad claims experiences.

He says the situation is similar to that in the early 1970s, when there were dramatic increases in premiums, and warns operators to make adequate provision for premium increases in their 1987 budgets.
