Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FODEN COMPUTER • Foden Trucks is investing up to £500,000 in a computer system which will be used to control the company's parts distribution.

The system is based on an IBM System 38 central computer, running Distributive Computer Systems (DCS) Dealerman software, through IBM System 36 computers at each of the dealerships.

Three Foden main distributors, Sandbach Truck Centre, Foden Commercials and the North Riding Garage Group, have already installed IBM System 36 computers to link in with the system. A fourth distributor, Peterborough Engineering, will be linking its computer into the system in the next few months.

Foden's data processing manager Ron Smith says, "To be linked on-line for parts distribution and accounting will be of great long-term benefit to Foden Trucks and its main distributors."
