Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE YORK and District Regional Joint Council has signed an agreement with the Transport and General Workers' Union for next year though details of the agreement will not be made known until next week.

Both the Road Haulage Association and the council's chairman, Glyn Samuel, feel that it would be unwise to announce details of the deal at this stage and a TGWU spokesman was not available for comment as CM went to press. The Western and Sheffield RHA offices have yet to receive claims, The West Midlands Joint In dustrial Council met on November 10 and a further meeting is planned for December 8. Similarly, the East Midlands JIC convened on November 7 during which an offer was made. A further meeting is now planned for December 3.

The Metropolitan and Southeastern JIC meeting planned for November 11 has been postponed until December 1. The RHA has sent questionnaires to its members and hopes to gauge their feelings before talks start at the December 1 meeting.

Finally, the Leeds/Bradford Hauliers Federation is expected to meet the TGWU before the end of the month to discuss the recent 5,2 per cent offer which was rejected by the union.
