ONLY a lunatic, one might think would respond to an advert say ing: "Industrial Property Avail able — One-acre plant sites to le in remote UK locations. No pub lic transport, no local labou force, no housing or schools High taxes, bad weather most o year. £100m per site."
Yet that, as Dr Peter Pras thofer, of Esso Exploration ant: Production UK explains in Essc Magazine, is a fair prospectw for the deck area of an oil-drillinE platform in the North Sea. Essc and Shell have combined to bu) eight such sites for more thar £800m — and nobody woulc describe them as lunatics.
