A drill grinder by Z. Brierley Ltd. has been designed to overcome the difficulty of avoiding damage to a subland drill when the step angle is being sharpened. Known as the Brierley Mk. IV, the grinder is capable of sharpening all types of subland drill without extra equipment or attachments. It is claimed that the grinder obviates the need for skill in the operation.
