• Greater London Council has issued the following advice to goods vehicle drivers working in London over the Christmas period:— By-pass the West End if you can—signs will show the best routes. Remember breakdowns can cause widespread congestion at Christmas. If you make regular short-hauls in London, whenever possible avoid delivering between midday and 2 p.m. and after 4 p.m. when roads and pavements are very crowded.
"Use lorry parks, preferably guarded ones, when parking for the night. The police. the Traders Road Transport Association or National Car Parks Ltd. will give you a list of them.
