A Forecast of the Collective Exhibit of Three-wheeled Vehicles.

MEE modern A. motorcycle and smecar combination or the tricar is unsurpassed as an economical means for the transport of light loads. Retail tradesmen particularly are taking to the employment of these hahdy little machines and the collective exhibit of vehicles of this type, which is being organized by the British Cycle and Motor Cycle Manufacturers and Traders Union, Ltd., should prove itself to be well worth a visit from all interested in this class of transport. This display will be made upon Stands 240, 241, 242 and 243.

• Figuring prominently amongst the various machines exhibited will be those displayed by the Arid l Works, Ltd. These will comprise two of the company's 5.50 h.p. motorcycles, one as an open truck-sidecar outfit and the other with a commercial-van attachment. The motorcycle combinations whicl sire to be shown by the Birmingham Small Arms Co., Ltd., Birmingham, should command much attention. A feature of this company's display will be thelarge sidecar milk-float fitted to a 9.86 h.p. B.S.A. motorcycle. This milk-carrier, which is capable of transporting loads up to 5 cwt. 2 qrs. 14 lb., ismade from a special hardwood and has a strongly hinged and slung tailboard to give a greater capacity for carrying churns. The other exhibits of this company will be a 4,93 hp. B.S.A. motorcycle, equipped like the milkcarrying outfit with Lucas Magdyno lighting accessories, and a 3.49 h.p. B.S.A. machine, both fitted with wellfinished sidecar-typo box-carriers.

Another machine which should attract considerable attention is that to be shown by the .Raleigh Cycle Co., Ltd, The dual-purpose outfit in question can be converted, as desired, from a tradesman's enclosed sidecar box-carrier of somewhat unorthodox design to a passenger-carrying vehicle. It is claimed that this changet can be very easily carried out in a matter of about 3 mins. The average load capacity of this machine, which is known as the model 22 T and which is powered with an engine of 4.98 h.p., is up to 3 cwt.

Of special interest will be the machines shown by the Bowden Brake Co., Ltd., This company's range, like that of the B.S.A. Co., Ltd., will include a milk-float body and two boxcarriers, only in this case they will be mounted upon tricar chassis, each powered with a Villiers two-stroke

engine of 350 c.c. capacity. A bare chassis of this type will also be shown.

A particularly neat tricar is that which will be exhibited by the Coventry Victor Motor Co., Ltd. This compact little machine will be shown as a light van with• a sturdily built body fitted with a comfortable driver's cab. This three-wheeler will take a useful load of from 3-4 cwt., and its engine, which is of 6.9 h.p., is claimed to give a fuel consumption of about 60 m.p.g.

A particularly comprehensive range of modern sidecar outfits will be displayed by Budge Whitworth, Ltd. Several types of truck and box-carrier sidecars will be shown attached to the company's motorcycles equipped with 4.99 h.p. power units. A feature will also be made of this concern's light twowheeled trailer chassis, with van or other types of commercial body, for use with motorcycle and sidecar combinations.

Another commercial-sidecar outfit, designed for general use in many diverse trades, from stationery to butchery, which will be shown by Zenith Motors, Ltd., should attract much notice. The engine, of 300 c.c, capacity, which is used to propel this machine, gives, it Is claimed, the low petrol consumption of 80 m.p.g.

Dtmford and Elliott (Sheffield), Ltd., one of the pioneers of commercial-sidecar outfits, will be exhibiting the Dunelt. model H, truck ontfit and the type K box-carrier combination. The former

machine, which, it is stated, will carry up to 4. cwt., is Powered with a well-built engine of 5 h.p. and is stated to be particularly suitable for general dairy and farm use. The model K outfit, which is powered With a 250 c.c. engine, is stated to be capable of travelling 80 miles on a gallon of fuel and can carry loads up to I cwt.

It seems that the dairyman will be particularly well catered for in this section of the Show, for the Enfield Cycle Co., Ltd., will also be staging a powerful, strongly built sidecar outfit of the dairy-truck type. Three churns can be easily accommodated in this car, rier, which will be attached to the Enfield standard 9.76 h.p. twin-cylinder motorcycle.

The Morgan Motor Co., Ltd., will also be represented in this section. This well-known manufacturer of tricars has recently produced a model which can be used either as a trade van pr a touring vehicle. An easily removable van body, of 3-cwt. capacity, is mounted at the rear of the front seat and, when this commercial attachment is not in position, a single hood covers the forward and rear seating accommodation.

The exhibits to be shown by the N.U.P. Engine and Cycle Co., Ltd., will also include a milk-float combina

tion. The other machine to be displayed by this, company is a box-van sidecar outfit, which is particularly suitable for such tradesmen as bakers,

butchers, or grocers. These outfits, which are fitted with N.U.T. 5 h.p. twin-cylindered engines, have internalexpanding brakes on all road wheels, including those of the sidecars. The specifications of these sturdily built machines, which are particularly well known in the North of England, will be found very attractive by visitors to these stands.

The Watsonian Folding Sidecar Co., Ltd., the well-known manufacturer of various types of folding sidecar, including a number of those for commercial use, will also be represented in this collective exhibit. The display of this company's products should be another centre of interest.
