Mr. J. S. Critchley, who has been associated with the motor industry for upwards of ten years, has issued a card commemorative of the tenth anniversary of motoring in this country to his friends. The sender, who is a partner in the Critchley-Norris Motor Co., of Bomber Bridge and London, is depicted holding a 4-5h.p. car in one hand, and a 45h.p. model in the other.

The Adams Manufacturing Company, Limited, of 147, Queen Victoria Street, E.C., announces that its city offices, and its works at Bedford, will be closed for the Christmas holidays, from i p.m. on Saturday, December 2211d, until the following Thursday morning. This example might well be followed by other members of the motor industry, as a small compensation for the extra pressure of work that falls upon everybody during show time.

William Jessop• and Sons, Limited, of Sheffield, has, owing to the large increase in its motor department, found it necessary to extend the building, and to put down plant specially for this purpose. Another smiths.' shop has, also, Leen erected for forging cranks and axles. The fresh plant includes some fine examples of turret and other lathes, and the company will be pleased to give attention to enquiries for its special " Ark Brand " steels and other varieties of interest to both manufacturers and users of heavy motors.

"rhe Lancashire Steam Motor Company, Limited, of Leyland, Lancashire, holds the record for the supply of municipal motors in this country, and the employment of its machines for such purposes dates back, at Liverpool and Chelsea, for some eight years.

Mr. C. Hooydonk, of 6, Leather Lane, Holborn, E.C„ has taken over the sole agency for the well-known " Dependence " electric head-lights, and side-lamps for motor vehicles, and a stock of these will be held at the above address.

Lord Kihnorey, chairman of the CharingCross Hospital, has addressed a letter of thanks to the six omnibus companies which, until quite recently, allowed their vehicles to use King William Street, adjoining a large section of the wards, as a short cut to and from the Strand and Charing Cross Avenue. We are very glad indeed to :-:ect that the companies have deemed it expedient to vary their routes in this particular case.

Our Fortnightly Census.

There has been net increase of 22 motorbuses, during the fortnight ended Monday last, in the Metropolis, the total having, by that date, reached 772 vehicles " in commission." The increase for the preceding fortnight, due to certain difficulties which have now been surmounted, was only eight.
