• Maintenance problems resulted in the licence held by Patrick and Hugh Laing, trading as PA Laing of Hawick, being cut from 16 vehicles and 20 trailers to 12 vehicles and 12 trailers. Scottish Deputy TC Richard McFarlane indicated at an Edinburgh disciplinary inquiry that he wouldn't consider any increase for six months.
