During the year 1931 the Clayton Dewandre Co., Ltd., made a profit of £22,231, from which the directors have provided £5,622 for depreciation and £6.100 for income tax. Distinguished Visitor to A.E.C.'s Works.

A few days ago Prince Lennart, of Sweden, who recently arrived in this country, paid a surprise visit to the Southall factory of the Associated Equipment Co., Ltd., where he drove one of the company's newest type sixwheeled chassis around the test track. Prince Lennart was conducted through every department of the factory by Mr. Norman A. Hardie, general manager (sales), and showed great interest in the modern methods employed._ in the construction of A.E.C. vehicles.

A Sales Manager Available.

We know of an active young sales manager who is experienced in marketing motor chassis and metallurgical products in the manufacturing and replacement sections of the industry, both in the markets at home and overseas, who is seeking a change to a progressive company, in the capacity of sales manager (general or divisional), or as a colonial sales representative. Extensive Use of Rubber Flooring.

An important order for rubber flooring has recently been secured by the loco Rubber and Waterproofing Co., Ltd., Glasgow' a subsidiary of Vickers, Ltd. Upwards of 4,500 sq. yds. of the company's well-known rubber flooring is specified in the contract, and will be used to cover the floor space of the new electricity showrooms which Glasgow Corporation is erecting in Waterloo Street, Glasgow.

Henley's Tyre Co. Dinner.

The annual dinner and dance held by the staff of Henley's Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd., and its parent company, W. T. Henley's Telegraph Works Co., Ltd., took place at the Wharncliffe Rooms, London, on March 5th.

Approximately 500 people were present and the function was an even greater success than in previous years. The toast of "The Companies" was proposed by Mr. S. J. Madden, who is concerned with tyre sales, the response being by Mr. W. J. Potter, who presided at the dinner, and by Mr. W. G. Smale. Sir George Sutton proposed the health of Mr. Potter, who is thought a great deal of by all members of the staff and has been with the company for about 45 years ; his reply was both apt 'and amusing.

Henley's Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd., makes, in addition to solid tyres, a range of pneumatics covering practically all commercial-vehicle sizes.
