TWO SENIOR personnel have been appointed to new companies within the newly, formed NEC: Distribution„ Group, Dick Dun-an, managing director of National Carriers Parcels since 1982, is to be managing director of the restructured SPD; Mark Bedeman will be managing director ofSPD Contract Distribution.

As reported in CM (May 18), SPD will take over distribution on a shared basis for customers currently served by SPD and British Road Services. SPD Contract Distribution will handle all dedicated distribution services run at present by SPD and BRS. The changes come into effect in October.

Before he became managing director of National Carriers Parcels, Mr Durran spent five years as managing director • of Fashionflow, the National Freight Consortium's dedicated distribution service for Marks and Spencer. He joined NFC in 1973 as a branch manager for BRS.

Since 1982 Mark Bedeman has been managing director of the NFC's Bar Delivery Services, adding the job of distri bution director of BRS Southern to tins responsibility two years ago. From 1979 to 1982 he was on the main board of BRS Group as director, membership services, having joined BRS in 1971 as a management trainee.

As previously reported, present SPD managing director Ron Irons will become managing director of the NFC Distribution Group.
