Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The National Guild ofTransportManagers is to retain the services of Guardian Business Services Ltd to act as consultants and to provide a secretariat for the Guild.

The NGTM has been without a permanent secretary since Mr Frank Coult relinquished that position some 12 months ago. Mr M. P. Harris has been performing that function in an acting capacity and he will hand over to GBS shortly.

While there has been doubt expressed in some circles about the future of the Guild, its members have been confident of its ability to survive in its present form. A Guild representative told CM this week that the new arrangement would ensure its continued and efficient operation.

A meeting of the national council is to be held on July 21 when the arrangement for GBS to take over the secretary's duties will be finalized.
