MANY OF THE UK's truck and van hire specialists are enjoying booming business, according to an industry analyst. The latest report by Plimsoll Publishing says 46 companies have doubled their profits in the past year and 98 have halved their debts.
Senior analyst David Pattison comments: "After the past few years of uncertainty the IJK van and truck hire industry is expe riencing a positive upswing. I'm delighted that many companies are getting it right by addressing the issues that have constrained them for years. Profits are improving, sales are up and debt issues are being resolved."
But not all firms are doing so well, he warns. Of the 438 companies assessed, 57 have declining sales and 48 are making a loss.
