INCREASING use is being made of I rubber bump units for commercial vehicles, and they are also being employed to give a variable rate to suspension systems of existing vehicles.
A complete range of hollow-rubber springs, for load capacities of up to 15,4011 lb., is now being produced by Aeon Products (London), Ltd., 48 Clifton Gardens, London, N.W.11. The springs are relatively cheap, light and easy to install.
They are usually fitted between the chassis and the leaf spring or between the chassis and axle casing. In this al4
position they act as helper springs, antiroll. units and, to some extent, shock
absorbers. It is claimed that spring breakages have been reduced by the use of these units on vehicles operating on rough work.
