By Chris Tindall A NORFOLK paving haulier believes he was deliberately targeted by arsonists who destroyed most of his fleet of trucks two days after Christmas.
Gary Cooper now fears whoever has a grudge against his business could return to devastate his Wymondham-based firm, Gary Cooper Paving.
On 27 December his premises were broken into and trucks were set alight at around 7pm. Luckily, passing firemen saw the blaze and were able to put out the flames, but not before six vehicles had been g destroyed, including three 7.5-tonne tippers and a grab lorry.
Police are appealing g for witnesses and also the owner of a blacked-out Range Rover seen nearby that afternoon.
Last summer, Cooper called on hauliers to help fund a legal challenge against the Government's fuel duty policy after he asked a commercial litigator to investigate the possibility ('Hauliers could force judicial review of Government policy'. CM 19 June 2008).
Cooper says: "1 think I'm being targeted by someone: it's a hard world we're in. g. I'm just keeping my head down and getting on."
