How heartening to read such an accurate and well-reasoned report of the Volvo VN770 (CM 1-7 Jan). As you say, other trade journals reported their findings too, but few appeared to have taken the trouble to look at fuel consumption, payload, gearing, etc. I know the object of the exercise was to have a bit of fun, but it was nevertheless encouraging to see that CM provided details of the mechanical specifications, living area and turning circle as well as reference 10 the overall acceptability of bonneted trucks in the UK and Europe.
An entertaining and responsible report on a truck that was certainly "a very nice drive".
