MR. G. W. HENNAH has been appointed assistant sales manager of

MR. NOEL MARSDEN, manager of the southern division of the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co. (Great Britain), Ltd., has recently completed 25 years' service with the concern.
MR. P. H. MAINPRIZE, lecturer in charge of the motor engineering department at Gravesend Technical College, has sailed to India to become principal of the Bhavsinhji Polytechnic Institute, Bhavnagar, Saurashtra.
MR. P. W. POPE, Mile End Road depot district manager of the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., has retired after almost 48 years with the company. He is being succeeded by MR. JOHN SIMON, who has been personal assistant to the managing director, MR. G. E. BEHARRELL, for three years.
MR. F. Howirr has relinquished the position of technical superintendent and deputy manager of the Northern Aluminium Co., Ltd., on being transferred to the associated concern, the Muminum Co. of Canada, Ltd. MR: S. Wit.onvo has become production manager and is succeeded as works engineer by MR. D. A. Ews. MR. A. R. MARTIN has assumed the full responsibilities of chief metallurgist.

MR. W. LAWRIE has retired from the board of Sentinel (Shrewsbury), Ltd.
MR. R. D. A. CRAFTER has become education officer of the Institute of the Motor industry.
MR. G. A. CHERRY, general manager of Birkenhead Transport Department, has taken over control also of the ferry department.
M.J.-GEN. R. F. BELCHEM has been appointed to the personal staff of the chairman of Tube Investments, Ltd., MR. IVAN STEDEFORD, for special duties. He was formerly chief of stall to VISCOUNT MONTGOMERY at the Western Union Headquarters in Paris, and speaks Russian, French and Italian.
MR. A. S. DICK has become managing director of the Standard Motor Co., Ltd., in succession to SIR JOHN BLACK, who relinquished his directorship last week. MR. E. G. GRINHAM, technical director of the company, has been appointed deputy to Mr. Dick. Mr. Dick, who is 37, joined Standard as an apprentice in 1934 and was chosen in 12/5 as Sir John's personal assistant. tie joined the board in 1947 as assistant managing director and in 1951 became deputy managing director. Mr. Grinham has 36 years' technical and managerial experience in engineering and became technical director in
