POWYS County Council has been told that a proposed lorry ban will provide no overall environmental gain.
The Freight Transport Association says the proposed diversion of lorries away from three roads in Ystradgynlais will take the vehicles from one set of unsuitable roads on to another.
FTA claims that the diversion will cause more damage unless improvements are made to the roads on to which the traffic is moved.
