FORTY South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire local authority representatives attended a recent demonstration of the Shelvoke and Drewry 35 cu. yd. Pakamatic refuse collection vehicle at Bawtry, near Doncaster. The vehicle incorporates a modification to the tines in the mouth of the hopper to improve the shredding of paper sacks and their contents.
Manned by a team of one driver and three loaders, it collected, shredded and tipped 440 paper sacks and their contents, weighing 4 tons 13 cwt, from 410 premises in two hours.
