• Scania's safety team has recorded poor HGV seat-belt usage amongst drivers throughout the EU with only 20% of truck drivers wearing belts compared with 80% in passenger cars (see Sound Off, CM18-24 July). However, Dahlberg says that today's integrated baits are infinitely more comfortable than earlier designs and one way to get drivers to belt up is to use a red webbing that acts as a visual reminder to wear the belt. tilt Scania buyers can specify the red seat-belt webbing as an option, which allows external observers to Instantly see if a driver is wearing his bait.
