Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A pusher axle 6x2 80 Series Leyland Daf, developed by Billingham dealer North East Leyland Daf (CM 25-31 July), has gone on six months' trial with Darlington haulier CFW.

CFW boss Andy Smith runs 10 Leyland Dais, most of them 95 Series tractors. He says he prefers the lighter and simpler 80 Series, but needed a threeaxle truck to get optimum payloads with his tandem trailers. It will be some time before Smith can assess the 80 Series truck's performance but he does not have to decide whether to buy the vehicle until after the trial.

North East is keen for Leyland Daf to build its own factory versions.
