A SUGGESTION that tl Government should direct ti Post Office to set up post bz schemes in joint ventures wi. other bodies was turned dom in the Commons.
Mr Trevor Skeet (Tory, Be ford) who put forward the id( said such schemes would e sure that reasonable commit] cations were maintained wil small country villages.
But Mr Gregor Mackenzi Under-Secretary for Industr, told him that it was for tt .Post Office, in consultatio: where appropriate, with loo authorities, to con•si d( whether to establish postal bt services.
