* The Routes 6-speed, overdrive, synchromesh gearbox is now available on three vehicles in the Dodge 500 Series range.
Previously available only on Commer medium and heavy range models, this gearbox is now offered on the 13-tor Dodge K850 and 14-ton Dodge K950. which are fitted as standard with the Perkins 6.354 diesel engine. The gearbox is also available on standard versions of the 16-ton Dodge K1050, also fitted with the Perkins unit.
Available as a factory fitted option at an additional charge of £35, this gearbox is claimed to provide greater operating flexibility by catering for the loaded run-out as well as the fast unladen return.
With all the models there is a choice of single or two speed axle ratios.
