Official Information, Aided by Maps, Which Should Prove of Inestimable Value to Coach Proprietors.

WE WERE OUT and about amongst motor each proprietors during the recent holiday, -and we heard from many quarters of the direct benefits which have been conferred upon owners and their drivers by the publication of the official information, aided by maps, concerning the parking arrangements in force in most of the prominent motor coaching centres throughout the country, and the suggestion which has recently been put forward that the series of maps, together with the accompanying particulars, should be reprinted in booklet form has been received on all sides with acclamation. This suggestion, we might add, is now receiving our earnest consideration, and in the course of a few weeks we shall probably be in a position to give particulars of any Scheme which may be devised.

For the moment we would repeat that the booklet, if it be published, will contain, among other cities and towns which have yet to be dealt with, particulars of the parking arrangements in force in the following places, which have already been published in our pages Oxford, Norwich, Cardiff, Clacton-on-Sea, Carnarvon, Penzance, Portsmouth, Canterbury, Exmouth, Wevmeuth, York, Worcester, Llandudno, Boutmemouth, Matlock (including Matlock Bath and Crom

ford), Basingstoke, Penrith, Chester, Aslibourne, Salisbury, Elgin, Blackpool, Retford, Dumfries, Scarborough, Hastings, Margate, Buxton, Thirsk, Forfar, Leicester, Maidstone, Newquay, Whitby, Kilmarnock, Torquay, Lancaster, Stirling,• -Windsor, Barnard Castle, Lowestoft, Derby, Grimsby, Knaresborough, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Bury St. Edmunds, Macclesfield, Dover,Paignton, Cheltenham, 'Worthing, Berwick-on-Tweed, Falmouth, Plymouth, Holyhead, Ripon, Bexhill and Evesham. To this list we add this week the names of Swanage and Huntingdon.

SWANAGE.—So far as parking in this town is concerned, certain arrangements are left in the hands of the beach inspector. This means that, if,rio vehicles are on the stand near the Royal Victoria Hotel, motor coaches are allowed to occupy this site, for which accommodation a charge of is. per coach is made. So fax as the police are concerned, the most convenient road for setting down passengers is Victoria Avenue, and if motor coaches enter the town by this road they may set down their passengers at the end of it. It is quite near the centre of the town and the sea front, and in close proximity to a private road where the vehicles are allowed to stay for a abort while.

"' HUNTINGDON.—Witil the exception of Saturday, which is market day, Market Hill is used by visiting motor coaches for setting down and picking up their passengers. No charge is made for this facility.
