Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THIS MONSTER load, which is part of a North' Sea oil rig, is the widest-ever load to pass through the Tyne Tunnel.

The load consisted of two deck panels each weighing 32 tonnes and over 26ft wide. Maximum width in the tunnel is 28ft, leaving very little clearance on the bends. Just to check it would get through, a full-size wooden mock-up was constructed and taken through a few days earlier.

Total length of the whole train was 112ft. Pulling power was provided by a DAF 2800 DI(S 6x4 unit, hauling a Nicholas eight-axle trailer with hydraulic suspension and all-axle steering.

Econofreight Transport of Stockton-on-Tees decided to use the Tunnel route to avoid the need temporarily to remove a variety of street furniture such as traffic signs and lamp standards. This would have cost an estimated £11,000!
