Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

on hire a special van designed to give simultaneous release to 60,000 racing pigeons. Mr. W. D. Griffiths, who provided the special vehicle, one of three now in this country, applied to the Scottish Licensing Authority for a B licence in Glasgow -last Friday, British Railways, long-standing transporters of racing pigeons, objected.

Mr. J. Law produced evidence that the new vehicle met many of the objections and problems involved in rail transportation of pigeons. Officials of the Federation, who have paid £50 a week for straight hire of the vehicle, and have operated it with only a road fund licence, want to put the operation out to contract. They supported Mr. Griffiths completely and commended the new vehicle as the ideal answer to racing needs, allowing selection of any site, at any distance al any time, and with less cost.

After hearing evidence that all pigeon traffic had been transferred to road in this area from April last, Mr. Quin adjourned the case to allow British Railways to prepare their case.
