At the Show

this model is rearengined -and has' seating capacities of 31, 41 or 46, its overall dimensions being 34 ft. 9 in. by ft. 2.4 in Together with the slightly shorter 0 321 H, it is in large-scale production, the total number built since the basic model was introduced at the end o:=. 1954 having reached over 1,3,000 by last autumn. Vehicles for this ,country will comply with the British •P.S.V. Regulations as well as, of sOurse, having right-hand steering. An example of this model will he displayed on the MercedesBenz stand at theCommercial Motor Show next week but, owing to the limited time available, this will have left-hand steering. Delivery of vehicles ordered at the time of the Show is promised for next spring. Two alternative indirect-injection sixcylinder diesel engines are available, the OM 321 being a 5.1-litre unit with an output of 110 b.h.p, (net) at 3,000 r.p.m. whilst the OM 322 has a capacity of 5.68 litres and develops 126 b.h.p. (net) at 2,800 r.p.m. The unladen weight of the coach to be exhibited at Earls Curt,' with 41 luxury seats, is 6 tons 19 cwt. and it is under stood that this 'is likely to be repeated on examples for Britain. The weight distribution enables 8.25-20 (12-ply) tyres to be used on both axles, with twins at the rear. The price is not yet finalized, but it is understood to be closely comparable to that of a British underfloor-engined 36-ft. model with coach body. The standard equipment includes a heater with individual outlet nozzles to each pair of seats.
