Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ONLY COMPLETE engine units will be supplied by National Carriers' reconditioned engines enterprise. Short engines will not be sold.

• National Carriers Ltd has just entered the engine reconditioning market under the• name of Renova Replacement Units (see CM October 7). Based at Slough, the company will produce Bedford, Ford, Leyland and Perkins engines ready for fitting into the chassis.

The Slough workshop has been reconditioning "inhouse" engines for NFC companies for several years; now, the service is available to outside customers.

But Renova has made it clear that only complete units will be supplied — no short engines.

At the moment, only naturally aspirated engines are considered, but Renova hopes to branch into the turbocharged field when more workshop space is available.

All reconditioned units are subject to a warranty of either six months (12,000 miles) or 12 months (12,000 to 24,000 miles) dependent on type.

It is estimated that Renova will produce around 900 engines during 1978.

The Slough workshop is also equipped to recondition gearboxes and differentials.
