TWO fresh-air cab heater units have been added to the K-L Norway range manufactured by the Key-Leather

Co., Ltd., 5 Urswick Road, London, E.9. One has been designed specially for the new Bedford TK forward-control range whilst the other fits Ford Thames normal-control models.

Both units can be employed for cold air circulation in warm weather or as recirculating heaters to give a rapid effect. The heater for Bedford models measures 7-1in by 7 in. by 8 in., and incorporates four demister outlets and louvres at the sides and bottom on the unit for general cab heating.

The K-L Motorair powered ventilitor for commercial vehicles is now equipped with shutters which allow its air intake to, be controlled, whilst a smaller version of this unit—the Motairette—is available for light vans.

Quick Cutter 1-1. A SWISS -flame-cutting machine for

profile work manufactured by the Rowen-Arc Division of Rubery Owen and Co.. Ltd., Coventry. will make fast cuts in mild steel from 1,-41 in. thick. A reversible magnetic roller follows sheetmetal templates for automatic working, whilst the provision of a tracing pin permits the outline of a drawing to be followed under manual control.

The driving head incorporates a parallel guide and locking arm to give straight cuts without a template whilst accurate circles can be followed by using a compass beam, equipped with # magnetic pivot, which is fitted to the arm holding the roller. The machine is known as the Rowen-Gloor and , can burn acetylene, propane or coal gas.

High-frequency Cleansing A CLEANSING tank for small comr-I ponents which employs normal solvents given turbulence by highfrequency vibration is manufactured by Kerry's (Ultrasonics), Ltd., Warton Road, Stratford, London, E.15, The stainlesssteel tank measures 8 in, .by 6 in. and is 8 in. deep.

Transducers in its base receive energy from a separate unit and this is converted into vibration to set up alternating. pressures in the solvent. This produces cavitationin the liquid and is said to have a " scrubbing " action on the components being cleaned. •

Softer Seats PLAXTON coaches at the Commercial Motor Show were fitted with seats incorporating a new cushion support member. This is the Vitaweb seating platform manufactured by Vita form, Ltd., Manchester. It consists of a sheet of A-in.-thick rubber which is attached to the tubular seat frame by six metal hooks bonded into it. Large holes in the platform allow air to circulate through the cushion whilst the rubber "gives" slightly to assist in shock reduction.

Long Jibs A RANGE of workshop cranes with

capacities from 10 cwt. to 2 tons, is manufactured by Mann Egerton and Co., Ltd., 5 Prince of Wales Road, Norwich. All models are available with hydraulic or mechanical operation. They are of welded construction made up from boxsection steel members. Each unit consists of a trolley base on which Is mounted the column and jib. The actuating winch or ram is mounted behind the upright column so that the effective length of the jib is measured from its pivot.

Portable Charger ASELF-CONTAINED unit for battery 'charging which weighs only 50 lb. is offered by the Tooley Electro Mechanical Co., Ltd., Earl Shilton, Leics. The set consists of a 1-h.p. four-stroke petrol engine driving an 18-amp. 12-v. generator through a belt. Equipment for the generator includes a reverse current relay, a charging regulator and two 3-ft.long leads with terminals and battery clips. The unit is mounted on four antivibration mountings and is covered by a steel shroud.
