• The first 13.6m twin-decked livestock semi-trailer from GR Commercials of Cheadle, has entered the fleet of Crick-based Midland Meat Packers and another has been ordered.
Its all-aluminium monococque construction has a suspended middle floor with its longitudinal bearers fitted above the deck to give extra clearance below.
Each level is 1.6m high, the floors are split into four equalsized pens with movable partitions. The rear end has an internal hydraulically powered lift to carry cattle to the top floor and a spring assisted tailboard forms the rear closure.
