Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

It's SCR all round for Volvo's Euro-5 range. Revisions to the D16 16.1-litre engine fitted to the FH16 were announced in January, giving a Euro-5 range with power outputs of 540hp, 600hp and 700hp. Euro-5 variants of the seven, 11 and 13-litre engine ranges are due in production from June.

Volvo claims the Euro-5 revisions have increased power output while reducing fuel consumption by up to 3%. Maximum power output for the D13 engine has increased by 20hp to 540hp. There are four other ratings for the D13: 380hp, 420hp, 460hp and 500hp.

013 modifications for Euro-5 include a new piston bowl, cylinder liners and piston rings, resulting in a slightly reduced compression ratio. Other modifications include an electrically controlled oil thermostat and a two-speed coolant pump.

A turbocharger waste gate is used with all versions, and a pilot injection pulse will be introduced to the fuel injection mapping, said to reduce combustion noise by 2.0dB(A). The SCR silencer gains a revised catalytic coating.

The Euro-5 11-litre D11 engine will be available with 330hp, 370hp, 410hp and 450hp 20hp higher than for Euro-4 variants. The compression ratio for the 011 engine has also been lowered. An electrically controlled turbocharger wastegate is used across the range. Cooling and SCR coating improvements are shared with the D13 engine. Both D13 and D11 engines will be available to EEV standard the 013 with outputs of 420hp, 460hp and 500hp and the D11 with 330hp, 370hp and 410hp. There will be five versions of the Euro-5 07 seven-litre engine, producing 240hp, 260hp, 290hp, 300hp and 340hp. The D7 common-rail injection system uses the same pump and injectors as Euro-4 versions, but with altered rail pressure mapping.
