Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

EATON CORPORATION'S annual report is a reminder that the American commercialvehicle market is suffering as badly as the British. Last year's output of 84,000 heavy lorries in North America compared with 212,000 in 1979. The slump in the motor industry has completely changed the balance of Eaton's sales. In 1977, vehicle components accounted for 79 per cent and electronic and electrical gear for 21 per cent. Last year the scales tipped 54 per cent in favour of electronics and 46 per cent for vehicle components.

But the demarcation line is being blurred as more and more electronic devices are incorporated in vehicles. An electronically controlled automatic transmission for lorries is one of the latest developments.
