EUROPEAN MPs launchei campaign this month tougher measures to pre, cruelty to horses being take be slaughtered.
The European Parliame agriculture committee want introduce some restrictions.
Journeys by lorry should exceed 500 km as road tray harder than any other mear transport. Horses should no left longer than 18 hours witl food and water (at present limit is 24 hours).
Animals should be separ by compartments so tha most only two or three w stand or lie together. The c mittee also calls for a bar cross-loading since this mei s said to produce a panic action as the result of jolting ing the journey.
