Anderson takes over the eastern region and W. A. Shotten the western.

R. W. Thornton has been elected chairman of the Industrial Transport Association's Forth division: G. L. Steele is vice-chairman; A. M. Raeside secretary; R. J. Gibbins assistant secretary: J. M cKillop treasurer; R. G. Torrance, J. L. A. Morris, A. H. Bremner, H. B. Aitken, B. J. C. Swinbum, M. W. Jones committee. Mr. Thornton, Mr. Raeside, and J. P. B. Sherriff, Deputy Editor of CM, are representatives to the national council.

V. J. Owen, at present chief engineer of Trent Motor Traction Co. Ltd., at Derby has been appointed chief engineer of Maidstone and District Motor Services Ltd., in succession to P. C. Wickens who leaves at the end of March to become a technical executive with United Transport (Overseas) Ltd. Mr. Owen takes up his new appointment on May 1.

R. H. (Bob) Odams has joined the board of Carflow Ltd., becoming London fleet sales director. Mr. Odams was formerly fleet sales manager with Shaw and Kilbum Ltd.

D. V. Cootes-Preedy has been appointed export marketing manager by the Automotive Products Group. In this newly created post Mr. CootesPreedy will concentrate initially on developing business for AP's new Mark III Automatic Transmission in Europe. He joins the Group from Jaguar Cars Ltd.

Jack Wood, 60, who has been with the North Western Region of the Transport and General Workers' Union for 25 years, is to retire from his position as regional group secretary of commercial transport services section at the end of this month.
