• Whippet Coaches Ltd., of Hilton, Hunts, has celebrated its golden jubilee and to mark the occasion has bought six more coaches, worth about £43,000, from Plaxtons of Scarborough Ltd. The business was started in 1919 by the father of the present directors. Henry Lee, Arthur Lee, and Joseph Lee, with one small motor van : the company now operates 16 coaches and 11 double-decker buses.
