The EuroIronic 2 is a revised version of the 2F-built AS-Tronic gearbox which Iveco has offered for a couple of years under the name of EuroIronic. The gearbox is still an automated, air-operated range-change/splitter box with electronic synchronisation of the main ratios, but this is the first version to offer a fully automatic mode—just press the function button on the gearlever and it selects each shift without any intervention.
EuroIronic 2 will initially be offered In the UK in a 12speed version 011 Cursor 10-powered EuroTech and EuroStar models; It will arrive in 16-speed form with the Cursor 13 engine.
Direct-drive and overdrive (0.83:1) versions of the 18speed box will be offered.
