/I The following roadworks are likely to cause delays to operators and drivers, and should be borne in mind when route planning. CM's roadworks report is compiled with the help of the AA's Roadwatch unit and the Department of Transport.
flMl Northants. A contraflow scheme is still in operation for a distance of around 4.8km (3 miles) between Rothersthorpe service area and Junction 15 (Collingtree). Although the northbound services are now open at Rothersthorpe, the southbound site will remain closed until further notice.
The southbound exit slip road and northbound entry slip road at Junction 15 will also be closed until further notice.
ri Al (M) County Durham. Between Burtree and Aycliffe interchanges there will be closures on the northbound carriageway and slip roads for the next four weeks for resurfacing work. A contraflow scheme is operating on the southbound carriageway and diversionary routes are signposted.
rj Al (M) Nottingham. The north and southbound carriageways are closed separately at Balderton to carry out urgent patching work. Contraflow schemes in operation.
El M2 Kent. Reconstruction work on the bridge deck of the Stockbury Viaduct near Junction 6 (Sittingboume) has resulted in lane closures, and a contraflow scheme is operating until June 28. El M20 Kent. Between junctions 7 and S (A20 interchange and Maidstone), contraflow scheme in operation causing long delays until November owing to carriageway reconstruction work. Work suspended July 24-August 31 to ease holiday traffic flow.
[I] M25 Herts. A contraflow scheme has been reintroduced between Junction 18 (Amersham) and Junction 19 (Bunton Bridge/A 41) and will operate until the end of June.
ri Mil Essex. The northbound slip road at the Redbridge roundabout will be closed until October owing to construction work on the South Woodford to Barking relief road.
M56 Cheshire. BetWeen Junctions 6 and 9 (Wilmslow and M6 interchange), the eastbound carriageway will he closed until mid August. A contraflow scheme is operating on the westbound carriageway. Moderate delays expected.
Li M4 Berkshire. Contraflow scheme operating between Junction 8/9 (Bray) and to the east of Junction 10 (Winersh) owing to carriageway repairs. Lane closures will last until mid-July.
Li M6 Lancs. At Junction 32 (Garstang/A6), the southbound carriageway is closed except for the hard shoulder. The right-hand lane of the northbound carriageway is operating as a contraflow for southbound traffic. Closures cover a distance of 4km (2.5 miles) and will last until November.
