THE DRIVER of a French heavy vehicle was ordered to leave a deposit of £200 last week with Winchester magistrates court before leaving the country after being charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

The driver, Jacques Rouyer, had been remanded for the weekend in custody after being charged with causing the death of a 19year-old man.

Mr John Sims, prosecuting, asked for remand on bail for thre( weeks and said that tht offence was not one to whicl the extradition treaty witt France applied.
