Talking of Pickfords reminds me that the Glasgow end of the business is having a doit-yourself session, or a sort of busman's working holiday. The removals and storage section is doing its own daylight flit— three miles from Bishop St. to Fleming St. And not only have they their own equipment and stock to shift, but about 170 family-sized lots of stored furniture and another 50 boxes of stored goods belonging to servicemen.
Most of the move has been at weekends, but there is a consolation. It's a groundfloor to ground-floor move so there's none of that vertical piano heaving.
