A statement from T.R.T.& headquarters says: "This is particularly true of vehicles carrying clothing, television sets, cigarettes, wines and spirits, certain . food products and other loads which are valuable and/or readily marketable. It also extends, however, to a host of other products and industries.

"The situation is such, that every operator of vehicles should seriously consider the adequacy of his security arrangements, particularly the fundamental precaution of fitting an immobilizing device."

T.R.T.A. members in the London area are also asked to give serious consideration to the desirability of participating in the vehicle observer corps.

Lorries Destroyed

TWENTY lorries were destroyed and I damageā€¢ was caused to others in a major fire at the premises of Mansfield Roadways Ltd., Mansfield, Notts, last week. The adjoining showrooms of G. E. Neville and Sons Ltd. were threatened by the blaze but the many new vehicles there were saved by the prompt action of members of the staff and volunteers.
