Preston-based Lancashire Daf has opened a site on the Walton SumMt Business Park at Bamber Bridge.
The dealership's 3.5-acre base is open non-stop from 8.00am on Mondays to 12.30pm Saturdays; it has a workforce of 80.
Trailer shortage
A continuing shortage of flatbed trailers has prompted Scotch Corner trailer dealership SDC Northern to create some of its own by stripping the bodies off 1997/98 curtainsiders. MD Rod Pybus reports: "The curtainsiders have to have 15-tonne necks and we're adding good solid side raves," he explains.
However, used trailer prices remain firm, he adds: "There's a lot of equipment about at present, but good quality equipment is at a premium."
