Implements EC Directives 92/1 and 92/2 on the monitoring of temperatures of quickfrozen foods during transport, warehousing, storage, sampling procedures and methods of analysis.
SI No 1056 The Waste Management Licensing Regulations 1994—cif 1 May 1994.
Introduces "fitness" tests for those who operate waste sites. Compels them to take long-term care of any site where they dispose of waste. Also removes the burden of the waste licensing system from many operators. Will apply to scrap metal merchants from I October 1994.

Brings into force the waste management sections of part 11 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
SI No 1209 The Goods Vehicles (Operators' Licences, Qualifications and Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 1994—cif 1 June 1994.
Increases the fee for the grant or major variation of a goods vehicle Operators' Licence from 2170 to £185 and from 27 to £8 in respect of each specified vehicle. Only applies to grants or variations on or after 1 June 1994.

free of charge to some of the information on the vehicle register. Others, showing reasonable cause for needing the information, may be charged a discretionary fee.

Brings into force in the London Borough of Bexley provisions relating to the enforcement of certain parking restrictions including powers to give fixed penalties and immobilise vehicles in certain circumstances.
SI No 1503 The Removal and Disposal of Vehicles (amendment) Regulations 1994—cif 4 July 1994.
Provides for the removal and disposal of vehicles, in the case of a contravention of a prohibition or restriction on the waiting of vehicles on roads, in connection with certain special events.
The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Amendment) Regulations
In cab height signs for vehicles over 3m; warning systems for vehicles with high level power operated equipment; notification to highway authorities of vehicle and loads operating above 4,88m. Still under discussion and awaiting implementation date.
