The depot, with an area of 20,000 sq. ft., and well equipped, will be able to deal with a large number of vehicles simultaneously.

A BRANCH of the Associated EquipilLment Co., Ltd., has been opened at Holland Street, Butler Street, Manchester, E., to enable A.E.C. users in the district to obtain the same facilities for obtaining spares and service for their vehicles as those operating in the vicinity 'of the company's Walthainstow factory or the present London repair depot at North Road, Caledonian Road,

With an area of approximately 20,000 sq. ft., the premises are large enough to deal with a number of yehicles simultaneously, leaving ample space for machinery and stocks of spare parts. A wide main entrance, 15 ft. high, has been provided, in order to allow vehicles with high loads or covered-in top doubledeck buses to enter.

The tool equipment is such that any class of repair, from a slight adjustment to a complete overhaul, can be undertaken in the minimum of time. Special reamering fixtures and other labour-saving appliances are installed, with a view to reducing the cost of repairs. An electric dynamometer is used to run-in and to test engines after overhaul.

A number of chassis units, such as engines, gearboxes, rear and front axles, steering mechanism, etc., are stocked, and hired out to users whilst their own units are being repaired or overhauled, thus enabling owners to keep their vehicles in service. A nominal charge is made for the hire of these units. Other chassis parts, namely, radiators, magnetos, clutches, etc., are leaned to , users for the same purpose, but no charge is made.

A very large and comprehensive stock of spare parts for all types of A.E.C. chassis (including the Tylor engine) is held and stored in an efficient manner, enabling any part to be obtained with the least possible delay.

The sales organization attached to this depot has demonstration A.E.C. vehicles always available and the A.E.C. 5-type engine, the highly efficient power unit which is replacing the proprietary engine fitted to the A.E.C. chassis during the war, can be seen at the depot at any time.

Residents in the Manchester area are, we understand, invited to inspect the premises, where they can obtain full information regarding A.E.C. products from Mr. A. Gammon, depot superintendent, or Mr. H. Noel, sales repre

sentative. The depot is within 10 minutes of Piccadilly by tram Nos. 25 to Holland Street. or 21, 22 and 24 to Butler Street. The telephone No, is
