Association has produced a policy statement on the use of non-original and secondhand panels in vehicle body repair.
Such panels should only be considered if requested by the vehicle owner or insurance company, unless the vehicle would otherwise be wTitten off. The vehicle must not be subject to an anticorrosion warranty claim and the panel supplier must provide a written guarrantee.
Panels not sourced from the original manufacturer should match the technical specifications of the original equipment, says the VBRA.
