to take over the assets of Southworth Chassis Engineering, which called in the receiver on 14 December.
Chris Drinkwater, the Preston-based firm's former sales and marketing director, is about to buy the equipment and stock for the air suspension, drawbar, axle conversion and wheelbase modification work. He plans to call his firm Drinkwater Chassis Engineering and to house it at SCE's former site for a few months. Drinkwater will employ 10 staff, sharing a site with his brother Bill, who has set up a type approval consultancy called Sv Tech.
NL Walling, the recovery and repair business of Broughton, Lancs, has bought Southworth's chassis straightening and repair division. It will also share the area until it expands its own site.
