is being paid to means for ensuring the efficient and economical delivery of fuel to carburetters, readers will be interested in details of a device which has recently been designed by Moriscot Petrolifts, of 57a, Hatton Garden, London, E.C.1. This concern has producea a simple electrically operated plunger pump for the purpose of delivering petrol to the carburetter at or above atmospheric pressure.

On the other hand, fuel can be supplied to the carburetter by means of a device which permits high pressure to be obtained for the purpose of priming, starting or fast running. The device commences to deliver petrol when the need occurs and supplies in proportion to the demand up to 13 gallons per hour. No manually operated switch is necessary, and the pump is com.pact, it measuring 7i ins. by 3 ins. by 3 in, It is also claimed to be silent in operation, simple, cheap to construct and, furthermore, fireproof. We are told that such a device can, for example, be permanently connected to the battery of a motor vehicle, without the employment of a switch, and that the pump would consume no energy except during the period when the carburetter float-chamber valve is open. Incorporation of the pump requires no modification to the electrical, mechanical or carburetter layout.
