Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The North Western LA, Mr. C. R. Hodgson, adjourned an application by Mrs. J. Litherland of Lymm for a new B licence in Manchester last Friday so that she could try to obtain customer witnesses. She sought to carry building materials within 30 miles but was prepared to reduce the radius to 15 miles to the west of Lymm to satisfy the two objectors.

Mrs. Litherland, aged 24, who described herself ,f3s a housewife, said she intended to employ' a driver for her 4-1-ton tipper and produced letters from firms who had promised to give her work. She had spoken to one of

the objectors and had agreed to exclud€ operations in Merseyside and the Wirral.

Mr. N. H. Henshaw, director of Henry H Crutchley Ltd., Birkenhead, said his compam was only prepared to agree to this exclusion r there was sufficient evidence to prove neer for a licence. On behalf of the objectors, Mr G. H. P. Beames said although there war something attractive about the naivety of thE application, looked at dispassionately therf was no case without witnesses.

The LA agreed but said he would adjourr the proceedings for the applicant to obtair further evidence or withdraw the application.
