Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AN increase of 10 per cent, in the prices of all tyres was made by the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., last week. It was because of rising production costs and the higher price of rubber. Other tyre manufacturers were expected to follow suit.

The Firestone Tyre and Rubber Co.. Ltd., put up the prices of their tyres, tubes, flaps and remoulds by 10 per cent. on Monday. The India Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd., also raised their prices by 10 per cent. on Monday.

THERE were 354,506 convictions in cases of offences relating to the use of motor vehicles in 1955 and fines amounted to £909,914 16s. 4d. This information is contained in "Offences Relating to Motor Vehicles" (Statibnery Office, 2s. 3d.). Convictions totalled 22,512 against drivers of goods vehicles exceeding speed limits, and 2,619 against drivers of passenger vehicles exceeding 30 m.p.h. Findings of guilt concerning records of work numbered 9,362, dangerous loading 4,256 and weight limits 757. Careless driving led to 35,063 convictions and obstruction 57,031.

MR. ROSTRON TO TAKE CHARGE? IT is expected that Mr. J. Rostron. I general manager of Grimsby Transport Department, will be appointed general manager of the joint Grimsby and Cleethorpes undertaking when it begins a year's trial next year. He has been recommended by the joint transport committee comprising representatives from both councils.

Cllr. J. R. Murphy, of Grimsby, and Ald. R. E. Dove, of Cleethorpes, may be chairman and vice-chairman respectively of the joint undertaking.
