Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A murder investigation Is under way following a truck theft that left a driver dead.

Ian Jones (right), 44, from Hawkhurst in Kent, died last Wednesday when he stood in front of his 18-tonne DIxons truck while attempting to stop the theft of the vehicle and its load of electrical goods. The thieves mowed him down in his own vehicle at the Currys superstore in Corktree Way, East London. His family has launched an appeal for information. His sister, Sandra Rivers, adds: No words can express the grief and heartache we are going through. These people have killed our brother for a few electrical goods."

Upon arriving at the store, Jones left his vehicle In the service yard at the back of the premises and went Inside to tell staff he had arrived. A white Ford Transit box van drove into the yard and, hearing the noise, Jones went back outside to stop the thieves stealing his truck.

Both vehicles left the yard and, a few streets away, drivers transferred the goods from the truck to the box van, which then sped off the wrong way down a one-way street in Chingford.

New Scotland Yard are appealing for anyone who saw the box van, registration P461 WMF, to come forward. It was found later abandoned in Epping Forest, and had been stolen from Alpine Way In Beckton.

Jones had worked for Dixons for three years. "We are appalled at this tragic incident and have sent our sincere condolences to the family. We are also providing support to Ian's colleagues, who are understandably distressed," says a company statement.
